Submit Comments on Candidate for Judicial Reappointment

The D.C. Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure is inviting comments on the qualifications and fitness of Judge Jennifer M. Anderson, who is seeking reappointment to another 15-year term as associate judge of the D.C. Superior Court. Anderson’s current term expires on September 4, 2021.

Finding that the COVID-19 pandemic continues to present extraordinary circumstances relating to public health and safety that substantially impair its ability to perform certain functions, the Superior Court of the District of Columbia issued Administrative Order 21-06.

The Bar Association of the District of Columbia (BADC) commemorated Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month on May 20 with a fireside chat with former D.C. Bar President Shirley Ann Higuchi, author of Setsuko’s Secret: Heart Mountain and the Legacy of the Japanese American Incarceration. Higuchi was joined by District judges in discussing the Japanese American internment camps during World War II and their relevance to contemporary injustices.
