Constitution in the Classroom

The U.S. Constitution forms the cornerstone of our legal system and the foundation of our democracy. Attorneys and law students are well equipped to inspire young students with a sense of civic responsibility and appreciation for the Constitution's role in preserving the principles of democracy and justice.

We invite you to join the D.C. Bar and the D.C. Lawyer Chapter of the American Constitution Society (ACS) for a special opportunity to make a lasting impact on young minds. Share your knowledge, enthusiasm, and experience with DC Public School students, helping them understand the foundations of our legal system and the importance of becoming informed and active citizens!

We are seeking attorneys and law students from diverse backgrounds and perspectives to volunteer as teachers for our Constitution in the Classroom programs. ACS will provide lesson plans that are fun, relevant, and age- appropriate, but volunteers may teach their own lessons that raise awareness about fundamental constitutional principles.
