COVID Guidelines & Visitor Policy

The Bar has carefully developed its re-entry policies and procedures based on leading public health and safety guidance from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the D.C. Department of Health, and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

IMPORTANT: All re-entry policies/procedures are subject to change at any time based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, changes in COVID-19 prevalence rates, federal and local guidelines, business operations and/or staff and member feedback.

Exceptions to the vaccination requirement will be made in accordance with applicable law and may require additional safety measures such as testing and masking. Please contact [email protected] for further information.

Visitor Entry Policy

Visitors are welcome to enter the D.C. Bar’s building for select in-person engagements if they are “fully vaccinated” and present proof of such vaccination to security personnel in the building lobby. Acceptable proof is a CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card, or a similar record for visitors who are residents of countries other than the U.S. Photocopies and photos of such records are also acceptable.

*To qualify as “fully vaccinated”:

U.S. Residents:

  1. Visitors must have received two (2) doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine, OR a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccine; AND
  2. Visitors must have received at least one booster shot in accordance with the current CDC guidelines.

International Visitors:

Visitors must have received doses of the COVID-19 vaccines listed here in any combination in accordance with current World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines.

While on-site, fully vaccinated individuals are encouraged to wear face masks in common areas and practice social distancing.

Am I required to present proof of vaccination to be able to enter the building?

Yes, the Bar requires visitors to present an acceptable COVID-19 vaccination record (or a photocopy/photo of such a record) to building security personnel.
