Forms to manage your D.C. Bar license

- Certificate of Good Standing
You may order a Certificate of Good Standing through your online member account for immediate download and electronic delivery; a $25 fee applies. The online service also allows you to have your certificate emailed directly to a third-party. Upon request, a hard copy certificate may be mailed after purchase by contacting [email protected] and providing the appropriate mailing address. Certificates remain available for download through your online member account for 30 days from the date of purchase. Please note that purchasing additional certificates during this period will not alter the certificate issue date.
Verification letters may be issued in lieu of a Certificate of Good Standing only to attorneys who can verify current employment with a federal government agency, applicants seeking verification for the CJA Panel, and attorneys who are ineligible for a Certificate of Good Standing due to retired, resigned, or administratively suspended status. Attorneys requiring license verification who are ineligible for a Certificate of Good Standing for disciplinary reasons must submit a request for a Certificate Concerning Discipline through their online member account.
The following forms are available for online submission. Please be advised that these forms are automatically routed to Member Services for processing upon completion. You may download a completed copy of your form upon completion.
- Reinstatement Requests (Suspended, Retired, or Resigned Members Only)
You may submit your request for reinstatement by logging into your online member account. Reinstatement fees will be automatically calculated based on your current membership status and your selected membership class. If you previously remitted payment of the license fee for the current fiscal year or need assistance logging into your account, contact Member Services for assistance.

- Resignation Requests
You may submit a request to voluntarily resign/withdraw your membership by logging into your online member account. You must currently be in good standing. Under the Rules Governing the Bar, a resignation cannot take effect until approved by the Office of Disciplinary Counsel. This review process requires a minimum of 30 days. During this review period you are still considered a member of the Bar and must remain in good standing. If you intend to resign during the renewal period, your application for resignation must be received no later than 30 days prior to the final suspension deadline. Members submitting resignation requests after this date are responsible for payment of all fees associated with the license renewal to avoid an administrative suspension. License fees are not refunded upon resignation. - Retired Membership Class Request Form
Changes to your membership class may be made at any time by logging into your online member account. In accordance with the Bylaws, there shall be no refund of license fees paid for any change in membership class, resignation, or suspension.
