The DC Bar Pro Bono Center offers meaningful externship opportunities for law students who are interested in public interest law, direct client service, and community-centered advocacy. Externs work closely with experienced attorneys and staff on real legal matters, gaining hands-on experience while developing practical skills such as client interviewing, legal research and writing, case management, and professional responsibility.

Externships are available during the academic year and summer, and students have the opportunity to engage with diverse communities, explore multiple areas of law, and contribute to impactful, mission-driven work.
