2023 Judicial and Bar Conference
Friday, April 28, 2023

We are pleased to announce that the District of Columbia Courts and the District of Columbia Bar will host the next Judicial and Bar Conference on Friday, April 28, 2023, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. This event brings together the legal community to discuss timely issues facing the profession. In recognition of the 50th anniversary of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, granting the District limited self-government, this year's theme is Home Rule in D.C. at 50: Looking Back and Looking Forward.

To celebrate this landmark anniversary, we are inviting you to submit program proposals for afternoon breakout sessions that focus on the accomplishments and developments that have occurred in the District since the Home Rule Act was adopted. Programs may explore evolving practices for diversity, equity, and inclusion, rule of law, and access to justice, or lay the framework for discussions about the future of law in the District. We encourage you to be creative in developing your program and include elements for audience engagement such as polls and hypotheticals.

The audience will include judges, Bar leadership and members, and others active in the legal community. Submission topics may be broad or practice specific.

To be considered for an afternoon breakout session at the 2023 Judicial and Bar Conference, please read the following instructions and complete the online Program Proposal Form.

Due to the high volume of proposals expected, we will be unable to accept all program proposals. Program submissions not accepted for the 2023 Judicial and Bar Conference may be considered for webinars, podcasts, articles, and programs not presented at the conference.

Program proposals must be submitted by Friday, October 28, 2022. Selections will be made by early December.
