On February 10 the Board of Judges of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia approved the immediate reinstatement of temporary amendments to Rule 5 of the Rules Governing Proceedings in the Domestic Violence Division and Rule 43 of the Rules Governing Juvenile Proceedings.

In Administrative Order 22-02 issued on February 4, the Superior Court of the District of Columbia named three Hogan Lovells US LLP attorneys who are permitted to receive pro bono appointments in serious misdemeanor and low-level felony cases involving adults.

On February 4 the Superior Court of the District of Columbia issued Administrative Order 22-01 authorizing the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) and the National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform (NICJR) to inspect, compile, and analyze data and information from juvenile records to study gun violence in the District.

The D.C. Superior Court Rules Committee recently reviewed proposed amendments to the court’s Rules of Procedure for the Small Claims and Conciliation Branch 3, 4, 18, and 19. In general the changes highlight new requirements included in emergency, temporary, and permanent legislation amending D.C. Code § 28-3814 (Debt collection).
