D.C. Circuit Court Seeks Committee Candidates

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit is seeking to fill vacancies on the Advisory Committee on Admissions and Grievances and the Advisory Committee on Procedures. Also, the Judicial Conference of the District of Columbia Circuit has at least two vacancies on its Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services. Members of these committees will serve a three-year term starting on July 1, 2023.

Judicial Nomination Commission Announces Two Superior Court Vacancies

On April 10 the D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission (JNC) announced two vacancies on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia resulting from the retirement of Judge Peter A. Krauthamer, effective June 30, 2023, and Judge Hiram E. Puig-Lugo, effective July 28, 2023. The commission invites qualified individuals to apply for these vacancies by noon on Friday, May 26. Application materials and instructions are available on the JNC website.

Attend Training on Upcoming Changes to Superior Court’s eFileDC Website

D.C. Superior Court will update its electronic filing system (eFileDC) website for Phase 1 filers on April 19. Users will notice a new look and feel to numerous pages, including the landing, login, and case information pages. Note that there are no revisions to filing procedures.

JNC Recommends Six Candidates for Superior Court Vacancies

The District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission has recommended to President Biden six candidates for judicial vacancies on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia created by the retirement of Judges William W. Nooter and John M. Campbell. The president has 60 days to select a nominee for each vacancy.
