Comment on Candidates for Magistrate Judge Appointment

The D.C. Superior Court Committee on the Selection and Tenure of Magistrate Judges invites comments from the bench, bar, and public regarding the fitness of 22 candidates to fill two pending magistrate judge vacancies on Superior Court. The committee will submit the names of three applicants for each vacancy to the chief judge of Superior Court. In addition, the Advisory Merit Selection Panel, comprising attorneys and community members, will also review the candidates and make recommendations to the chief judge and the committee.

Comments submitted to the committee are confidential. Please send all comments to committee chair Judge Michael O’Keefe at [email protected] and panel chair Natalia Wilson at [email protected] by May 24. Questions should be directed to Judge O’Keefe.

The president has 60 days to select a nominee to fill this vacancy.
