Superior Court to Hold Town Hall Meetings on Civil Division Operations

March 11, 2022

The D.C. Superior Court will hold three virtual town hall events in the coming week relating to its draft plan reimagining the Civil Division’s courtroom operations in a post-pandemic environment.

The court welcomes the public’s thoughts and ideas on the draft plan that covers, among other things, remote versus in-person trials or hearings, continuation or expansion of remote sites, and access to counsel. The court’s goal is to “provide as much flexibility and predictability as possible for parties and lawyers in scheduling and conducting trials and hearings.”

The schedule is as follows:

March 14 - Landlord and Tenant Virtual Public Forum
March 15 - Civil Actions Virtual Public Forum
March 16 - Small Claims Virtual Public Forum

All three town halls will begin at 4 p.m.

Superior Court Chief Judge Anita Josey-Herring and Civil Division leadership will be in attendance at each of these events. Parties are invited to submit questions in advance by emailing [email protected].
