Superior Court Order Allows Access to Juvenile Records for Gun Violence Analysis

On February 4 the Superior Court of the District of Columbia issued Administrative Order 22-01  authorizing the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) and the National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform (NICJR) to inspect, compile, and analyze data and information from juvenile records to study gun violence in the District.

The CJCC and NICJR may use the data for the purposes described in the Restricted Data Use Agreement Between the D.C. Courts and CJCC and may share publicly the aggregated results, but they shall not disclose this information to any other person or for any other purpose without prior approval of the D.C. Superior Court chief judge. Reports or final analysis shall not contain information that makes it possible to identify any party, witness, social worker, judicial officer, or other person involved in the case.

JNC Recommends Six Candidates for Superior Court Vacancy

The D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission has recommended to the president of the United States six candidates for judicial vacancies on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia created by the retirement of Judge Craig S. Iscoe and Judge Kimberley S. Knowles.
