D.C. Court of Appeals Seeks Attorneys for CJA Panel

The D.C. Court of Appeals is seeking attorneys to represent low-income appellants in criminal appeals on both paid and pro bono basis. 

From July 7 to August 11, the court will accept new applications from qualified attorneys who wish to serve on its Criminal Justice Act (CJA) Panel. The current hourly rate for CJA Panel attorneys is $110. Attorneys may be compensated up to $190,000 per year for work performed pursuant to their panel appointments, with some limitations. The court also is also accepting, on a rolling basis, applications from attorneys interested in working on criminal appeals pro bono.

JNC Recommends Six Candidates for Superior Court Vacancy

The D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission has recommended to the president of the United States six candidates for judicial vacancies on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia created by the retirement of Judge Craig S. Iscoe and Judge Kimberley S. Knowles.
