On November 15 the Superior Court of the District of Columbia issued Administrative Order 23-26 announcing four new members to the Criminal Justice Act (CJA)/Counsel for Child Abuse and Neglect (CCAN) Investigator Panel.
In addition, current and new members of the CJA/CCAN Investigator Panel must submit updated FBI and local background results no later than June 30, 2024.

The D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission (JNC) is inviting qualified individuals to apply for a vacancy on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia resulting from the resignation of Judge Maurice A. Ross, effective February 27, 2026. The deadline to apply for the vacancy is noon on March 12.

The D.C. Bar is paying tribute to Robert Lester Weinberg, president of the Bar from 1978 to 1979, who died of natural causes on February 19 at his home in Arlington, Virginia. He was 94.

On February 5 the D.C. Court of Appeals issued Order No. M293-26 introducing new D.C. App. R. 49(c)(14), which establishes a framework allowing trained community justice workers (CJWs) to provide legal assistance to people who cannot afford an attorney.
