Superior Court Judge Judith A. Smith Seeks Senior Status

The D.C. Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure is reviewing the qualifications and fitness of D.C. Superior Court Judge Judith A. Smith, who is seeking initial appointment as senior judge following her retirement.

The commission invites comments from the bench, bar, and general public regarding Judge Smith’s application. The deadline for comments is April 4.

Comments may be submitted in writing to the commission’s office at 515 Fifth Street, N.W., Room 246, Washington, D.C. 20001, or by email to [email protected]. In addition, comments may be submitted through an online survey. The identity of any person submitting comments will be kept confidential, unless the commenter authorizes the disclosure of his or her name.

On June 21 D.C. Superior Court added two more judges to its roster, welcoming Tanya Monique Jones Bosier and Judith Pipe as its newest associate judges. Jones Bosier and Pipe, both former magistrate judges of the court, were sworn in by Chief Judge Anita Josey-Herring.
