Superior Court Issues Order Regarding Access to Juvenile Records

On December 10 the Superior Court of the District of Columbia issued Administrative Order 21-17  authorizing Claire Blumenson, executive director and co-founder of the School Justice Project, to inspect, compile, and analyze juvenile case records.

Blumenson may use the data for the purposes described in the Restricted Data Use Agreement executed on November 19, 2021, but shall not disclose this information to any other person or for any other purpose without prior approval of the D.C. Superior Court chief judge. Reports or final analyses shall not contain information that makes it possible to identify any party, witness, social worker, judicial officer, or other person involved in the case records.

JNC Recommends Three Candidates for Superior Court Vacancy

The District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission has recommended to President Biden three candidates for a judicial vacancy on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia created by the retirement of Judge Anita Josey-Herring. The president has 60 days to select a nominee to fill this vacancy.
