JNC Seeks Comments on Candidates for Court of Appeals Vacancy

The D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission is inviting comments from the bench, bar, and public regarding the qualifications of 19 candidates for a vacancy on the D.C. Court of Appeals created by the resignation of Judge Loren A. AliKhan. The commission will submit the names of three applicants for the vacancy to the president of the United States for his consideration.

The commission has created a web-based survey to facilitate the comment process and has posted the applicants’ biographical sketches here. Comments may also be provided to the Judicial Nomination Commission via mail to 515 5th Street, NW, Suite 235, Washington, DC 20001; email to [email protected]; or fax to (202) 879-0755. The deadline is 5 p.m. on January 30.
