JNC Recommends Six Candidates for Superior Court Vacancy

The D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission has recommended to the president of the United States six candidates for judicial vacancies on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia created by the retirement of Judge Craig S. Iscoe and Judge Kimberley S. Knowles. The president has 60 days to select a nominee to fill each vacancy.

The candidates are:

  • Niquelle M. Allen, who currently serves as the director of open government for the District of Columbia Board of Ethics and Government Accountability
     
  • Michael C. DiLorenzo, a deputy chief in the National Security Section of the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia
     
  • Jennifer L. Farer, senior trial counsel with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Enforcement Division
     
  • Craig E. Leen, a partner at K&L Gates
     
  • Christine M. Macey, a deputy chief in the Federal Major Crimes Section at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia
     
  • John B. Timmer, senior trial counsel in the Enforcement Division at the SEC

D.C. Bar Names Justice Stephen Breyer as 2026 Thurgood Marshall Award Winner

The D.C. Bar has named retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer as the recipient of its 2026 Thurgood Marshall Award for his extraordinary commitment and initiative in pursuing equal justice and opportunity for all Americans. Breyer will be recognized at the Bar’s annual Celebration of Leadership on June 18.
