D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center Programs Closed December 24 – January 2

December 22, 2021

The D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center will be closed from December 24, 2021 – January 2, 2022. As such, the Landlord Tenant Legal Assistance Network (LTLAN), Family Law Assistance Network (FLAN), Consumer Law Resource Center, and Advocacy & Justice Clinic will all be closed for intake during this time.

  • The Family Law Assistance Network (FLAN) , a partnership between the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center, the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia, and the DC Affordable Law Firm, will be closed starting at 5:00 p.m. on December 17, 2022. FLAN will reopen for new intakes at 9 am on January 3, 2022, at (202) 844-5428.
     
  • The Landlord Tenant Legal Assistance Network (LTLAN) , a partnership between the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center, Bread for the City, the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia, Legal Counsel for the Elderly, Neighborhood Legal Services Program, and Rising for Justice, will be closed starting at 1:00 p.m. on December 22, 2021. LTLAN will re-open to all unrepresented tenants and small landlords at 9 a.m. on January 3, 2022, at 202-780-2575 or probono.center/LTLANintake.
     
  • The Pro Bono Center’s Advocacy & Justice Clinic  will close for new client referrals and intakes beginning on December 17th at 5 pm and will reopen for new referrals on January 3, 2022.
     
  • The Pro Bono Center’s Consumer Law Resource Center  will close at 5 p.m. on December 23, 2021, and resume accepting new requests for help starting on January 7, 2022, at 202-780-2574.
     
  • The Pro Bono Center’s next remote Advice & Referral Clinic  will be open for intake from January 10-12, 2022, at 202-737-4700 (ext. 3294).

Legal information and resources will continue to be accessible at the Legal Information Help Line  at 202-626-3499 and www.LawHelp.org/DC  while the Pro Bono Center is closed.

JNC Recommends Three Candidates for Superior Court Vacancy

The District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission has recommended to President Biden three candidates for a judicial vacancy on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia created by the retirement of Judge Anita Josey-Herring. The president has 60 days to select a nominee to fill this vacancy.
