2022 Judicial Evaluation Survey Now Open

November 09, 2021

Each year the D.C. Bar Judicial Evaluation Committee invites Bar members who have appeared before certain selected judges on the D.C. Court of Appeals and D.C. Superior Court to provide feedback to help improve judges’ performance and further the courts’ commitment to the administration of justice. This year’s evaluation period runs from November 9 to January 14.

The anonymous survey is administered by an independent research organization to ensure confidentiality. The survey typically takes no more than 15 minutes to complete. Survey results will be presented to the chief judges of the D.C. Courts, the individual judges evaluated, and the D.C. Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure in the spring.

This year the committee has selected 4 Court of Appeals judges and 23 Superior Court judges for evaluation. Attorneys who had a case pending before one or more of the judges during the 24-month evaluation period are eligible to participate.

All eligible attorneys should have received an email with the survey link from Research USA, an independent research organization administering the survey. If you do not receive an email by Friday, November 12, and are eligible to participate, please request a survey link directly from Research USA at [email protected].
