Summary: In re Evangeline Covington. Bar No. 429791. March 7, 2018. Disciplinary Counsel issued Covington an informal admonition. While retained to represent a client in a medical malpractice matter, Covington failed to properly serve the defendant in the underlying case, resulting in the matter being dismissed without prejudice, requiring that it be refiled. In addition, when co-counsel from another law firm was retained, Covington provided a writing that did not set forth the contemplated division of responsibility and anticipated effect of the association, nor did it seek or provide for informed consent to the co-representation.
