Informal Admonition (March 30, 2004)

Summary: Bar Counsel issued Omwenga an informal admonition for his conduct relating to two separate matters. In one matter Omwenga violated Rule 1.5(e) by failing to provide a writing consistent with requirements concerning fee splitting for attorneys not in the same law firm. In a second matter Omwenga violated Rule 1.16(d) by failing to surrender the client’s file after the termination of the representation and Rules 8.4(a) and 1.8(i) for attempting to impose a lien on a client file.
