Superior Court Deletes Civil Arbitration Program Rules

April 19, 2022

On April 19 the D.C. Superior Court Board of Judges issued Rule Promulgation Order 22-07 approving deletion of the Superior Court Civil Arbitration Program Rules, effective immediately. The arbitration rules were removed as unnecessary because the Multi-Door Dispute Resolution Division no longer offers arbitration as a method of alternative dispute resolution.

The District of Columbia Judicial Nomination Commission has recommended to President Biden three candidates for a judicial vacancy on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia created by the retirement of Judge Anita Josey-Herring. The president has 60 days to select a nominee to fill this vacancy.
