Superior Court Order Requires Defendant Information in Landlord–Tenant Filings

D.C. Superior Court Administrative Order 23-18 , issued on September 13, requires plaintiffs filing a complaint for possession in the Landlord and Tenant Branch to include the telephone number and email address for the defendant(s), if known to the plaintiff. Contact information is needed to inform parties about court hearings and to efficiently and effectively connect litigants to legal, housing, and financial resources as part of the court’s Eviction Diversion Program. The order is effective immediately.
