Superior Court Enacts Amendments to Civil Procedure Rules 10-I and 30

July 21, 2021

On July 20 the D.C. Superior Court Board of Judges issued Rule Promulgation Order 21-05 approving amendments to Superior Court Rules of Civil Procedure 10-I and 30. The enacted revisions, which take effect August 23, 2021, permit the use of a substitute address in court filings consistent with the District of Columbia’s Address Confidentiality Program. In addition, the changes incorporate 2020 amendments to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 30, providing that upon service of a notice or subpoena directed at an organization, the serving party and organization must confer in good faith about the matters for examination.
