D.C. Bar Launches MyDCLawyer™, an AI-Powered Lawyer Referral Service

March 19, 2025

The District of Columbia Bar (D.C. Bar) is proud to announce the public launch of MyDCLawyer, a state-of-the-art lawyer referral service designed to transform the way individuals find legal representation in Washington, D.C. Leveraging the latest advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and large language models (LLM), MyDCLawyer seamlessly matches individuals with attorneys based on their specific legal needs.

Navigating the legal landscape can be overwhelming, whether for personal or professional matters. Traditional referral methods, online searches, and directories often leave individuals uncertain about their options. MyDCLawyer changes that by providing an intelligent, user-friendly solution that simplifies the process.

By answering a few simple questions about their legal matter, potential clients receive a personalized list of licensed D.C. attorneys with relevant expertise. Searching is free, secure, and confidential—information is never shared or sold, and users are not subject to marketing or solicitation.

From divorce to labor, property to criminal, and immigration to personal injury, MyDCLawyer ensures that individuals are matched with attorneys with the right legal experience. By streamlining the lawyer search process, the service empowers the public with direct access to D.C. Bar licensed attorneys.

"We are thrilled to introduce MyDCLawyer to the public, making it easier than ever for people to find the right lawyer for their specific need," said Robert Spagnoletti, chief executive officer of the D.C. Bar. "This initiative enhances access to justice while advancing our mission to serve our members and the public."

The launch of MyDCLawyer reflects the D.C. Bar's ongoing commitment to leveraging technology to support its members and the community. As the legal profession evolves, the Bar is steadfast in its commitment to offering exceptional service to its members and ensuring people can access legal representation.
