Summary: In re Timothy Guy Smith. Bar No. 417768. April 15, 2021. In a reciprocal matter from Maryland, the D.C. Court of Appeals imposed equivalent reciprocal discipline and indefinitely suspended Smith from the practice of law in the District of Columbia with reinstatement contingent upon a showing of fitness, nunc pro tunc to February 1, 2021. Smith can seek reinstatement after five years or when reinstated in Maryland, whichever occurs first. In Maryland, Smith agreed that he could not defend against charges that he had engaged in conflicts of interest and dishonesty.
