Summary: In re Edward E. Moawad. Bar No. 998755. February 3, 2022. In a reciprocal matter from Maryland, the D.C. Court of Appeals imposed identical reciprocal discipline and disbarred Moawad, nunc pro tunc to December 15, 2021. The Maryland Court of Appeals found that Moawad failed to provide competent representation, to communicate with clients, to return unearned fees, and, once disciplinary proceedings began, to cooperate. Moawad then submitted multiple false statements and prepared false statements for another to sign. The D.C. Court of Appeals held that Moawad’s misconduct constituted flagrant dishonesty.

Summary: In re Edward E. Moawad. Bar No. 998755. November 18, 2021. Moawad, who is currently suspended by D.C. Court of Appeals’ order dated June 25, 2019, in In re Edward Emad Moawad, case no. 19-BG-450, and who was disbarred by the Maryland Court of Appeals, effective August 11, 2021, is ordered to remain suspended pending final disposition of this reciprocal proceeding, case no. 21-BG-778.
