Summary: In re Latif S. Doman. Bar No. 466654. May 16, 2024. The D.C. Court of Appeals suspended Doman for 30 days and required him to demonstrate his fitness to resume the practice of law before reinstatement. Doman failed to keep complete records of client funds, in violation of Rule 1.15(a), and engaged in conduct that seriously interfered with the administration of justice, in violation of Rule 8.4(d), by unreasonably failing to provide documents and information in response to Disciplinary Counsel’s subpoenas and written inquiries. The court also found that Doman intentionally gave false testimony to the hearing committee.

Summary: In re Latif S. Doman. Bar No. 466654. August 5, 2022. The Board on Professional Responsibility recommended that the D.C. Court of Appeals suspend Doman for 30 days for violations of Rules in two separate matters. Regarding Doman’s representation of a client in an employment dispute against the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Board found that he violated Rules 1.1(a) and (b) (failure to provide competent representation). In the second matter, which involved Doman’s handling of his trust account and his conduct during Disciplinary Counsel’s investigation of an IOLTA overdraft notice, the Board found he violated Rules 1.15(a) (recordkeeping) and 8.4(d) (engaging in conduct that seriously interfered with the administration of justice). In addition, the Board also found that Doman gave intentionally false testimony to the Hearing Committee.
