D.C. Bar's Kaitlin McGee Wins vLex Award

Kaitlin McGeeKaitlin McGee of the D.C. Bar Practice Management Advisory Service was named a Fastcase 50 honoree for 2024 by legal intelligence platform vLex. The award recognizes the legal profession’s most courageous innovators, techies, lawyers, and leaders.

As a D.C. Bar practice management advisor, McGee aims to take away the fear of AI for lawyers. With her unique blend of entrepreneurial spirit, tech savvy, and legal know-how, she works one on one with lawyers and in small groups to help them understand how to apply AI to their practices, in addition to guiding them through the launch and expansion of their law firms.

“It’s an exciting time to be a small business owner, especially in the legal field, as technology and tools are advancing rapidly. For lawyers willing to explore and adopt them, these innovations offer opportunities to increase efficiency, productivity, and profitability,” said McGee.

McGee co-leads the Bar’s monthly Basic Training & Beyond program, focusing on marketing, client relations, productivity, and tech for law firm success. In addition, she offers personalized support in an incubator-style format through the Successful Small Firm Practice Course. Before joining the D.C. Bar in 2021, McGee cofounded and ran a successful legal practice in Washington, D.C.

Superior Court Order Allows CJCC to Access Juvenile Records

On September 6 the Superior Court of the District of Columbia issued Administrative Order 24-12 authorizing the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) to inspect, compile, and analyze data on criminal justice and juvenile justice systems so it can regularly publish aggregate data pursuant to DC Law 25-175.
